WebMetal bed frames are only as sturdy as the hex screws are tight. I would also recommend re-tightening them every half year or so. I should also point out that IKEA did have a lot of problems with the supplier of this bed. We get a lot returned. They're safe, sturdy enough, but a lot get returned due to the peeling paint.
